Butterflies, of course. I do too. They are wonderful bushes, providing my Hamptons garden with fragrance and color in August.

For the last few weeks, I've witnessed quite a few garden crews pruning the ubiquitous privet hedges that surround the houses in the Hamptons.

Recently, I guided a friend on a tour through my garden and came across the subject of this Wednesday's watercolor.

I'm back after a blogging hiatus. Things got a little busy this spring and what free time I've had lately has been spent sprucing up my own Hamptons garden.

I probably won't make it to the Orchid Show this year which is currently open until April 21st. However, I do have quite a few additional photographs from last year's show that I think will make nice Waterlogue art.

Back from the Philadelphia Flower Show. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, the theme this year was Articulture, where art meets horticulture.

It's Watercolor Wednesday. This photograph, transformed into a watercolor by the Waterlogue iPad App, is of a climbing clematis 'Jackmani Superba'.

I have a lot of houseplants. The fresh green foliage and beautiful (and sometimes fragrant) blooms of indoor plants just seem to enliven any interior space, especially in winter.

You and me both. Still buried under snow and ice here at my Hamptons Garden. Temperatures hovering around 32 degrees.

With the help of a new iPad app named Waterlogue, I can now transform my ordinary garden photos into charming impressionistic watercolor images.

The annual Philadelphia Flower Show is in just a few weeks: March 1-9 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in downtown Philadelphia.

Am I the last to know? The owners closed Meadowbrook Nursery (We-Du.com) last fall due to health reasons.

More snow today (with ice). The trees and shrubs in my Hamptons Garden already look like they've been thickly frosted with vanilla buttercream.

When I woke up this morning it was only 14 degrees Fahrenheit outside (that's before you factor in the wind chill).
